For those of you along for this desk pet saga… here’s episode

To recap, the desk pets I bought were much too small so students kept losing them.

My solution was to purchase homes (i.e. containers) to keep their desk pets in.

Well wouldn’t you know it that those, too, turned out to be tiny. You can prep the tiny homes in some of the photos. 👀

I can’t win with these desk pets. 🤣

During indoor recess, students made these habitats for their pets. I cannot. They are just too cute.

It’s the bee room for me. 🐝 🐝

Please don’t judge how ugly this is. 🤣 It was a very intense game!

I tried a round with them yesterday and they were hooked so we played a few more. They had a blast working together as a class to figure out their answers.

It’s the perfect game when you have couple of minutes to fill. ✔️

I’m about two years late to the desk pet party b

I’m about two years late to the desk pet party but better late than never, right?

Here are some random desk pet thoughts… 🐢 🐝 🐰

1. Explaining to my students that these were mini erasers but we were going to pretend that they were pets was weird.

2. Seeing them get SO excited to get their first desk pet was a highlight of my day yesterday.

3. Then, as they started going missing today, I realized that I gave them these microscopic erasers and didn’t think through the fact that they would all get lost so quickly. 🤣

So, I ordered us desk pet homes… stay tuned for episode two in this saga. 🤷🏻‍♀️😅
