A Teacher Morning Routine Proven For Getting Things Accomplished

I used to be the teacher who would click snooze at least three times every morning. On the tougher mornings, I would lay in bed, contemplating how important it was to do my hair. I’d calculate how much longer I could stay in bed if I opted to put my hair up in a bun.  Every morning, I would quickly get ready and rush out the door. I had a very minimal teacher morning routine if I could even call it then at all.

This left me feeling like the weekdays were dedicated entirely to teaching. There was so much left to do after school like cook dinner, clean up and work out. I lived for the weekend when I could slow down a bit and enjoy some “me time”.

Then, I realized that if I woke up earlier I could carve out some time to do those things that I like to do every single day.

For me, these days, what lights me up is having quiet time in the morning to do things like gratitude journaling and reading personal development books while sipping my morning coffee.

Since starting Learn Grow Blossom, I realize that I also wanted to build in time when I could to work projects for that, too. I am naturally most productive in the morning, so I knew I wanted time to work on Learn Grow Blossom stuff in the morning as well.

Current Teacher Morning Routine

  • 4:45 am Wake up
  • 5:00 am Brush & floss teeth,, wash face
  • 5:05 am Make coffee
  • 5:10 am Habit tracking & gratitude journaling
  • 5:15 am Read personal development book
  • 5:30 am Work Block
  • 6:15 am Workout
  • 6:45 am Get ready

My teacher morning routine is always evolving.

For example, I used to work out after work. However, I found that I had much less energy which would lead to putting off my workouts.  Since I was enjoying my mornings so much, I decided to include my workouts into my morning routine since it was no longer an issue for me to wake up (most of the time).

This is my current morning routine, I’m sure it will change as my needs change. I’ll continue to adapt it to make sure that it continues to serve me well.
