An Improved Sunday Routine For A Busy Teacher

For my Sunday routine, I love equal parts productivity & rest to prepare for the busy work week ahead. I love to be busy. I used to work away my Sundays by planning, doing housework and working on projects for Learn Grow Blossom. Nowadays, I’m much more intentional about how I spend my time on Sundays. It’s important for me to include some relaxation in my Sunday routine, too.

Morning

I start the day slowly by reading in bed. I wake up early most Sundays but it feels great to not get up and rush to do anything.

Afterwards, I start my morning routine by washing my face and brushing and flossing my teeth. I sip my coffee as I journal and plan out my day in my digital planner.

Next, I complete any tasks for Learn Grow Blossom that I want to get done. I try to keep these tasks to a minimum on Sundays. I do most of the heavy lifting for my side hustle on Saturdays.

This year, I started planning for the week ahead during my preps and after school. I love having it all done. It used to be part of my Sunday routine but, it isn’t anymore and I love that for me! I always feel better going into the work week when I’ve had a quick glance on my plans to remember what I had mapped out. This only takes me about 10 minutes, and that feels great!

Afternoon

In the afternoon, I’ll get in a workout. On Sundays, I give myself the luxury of working out when my body is ready for it. It’s the one day where I don’t push myself to do things at a certain time.

I like to get house tasks out of the way in the afternoon. I’ll pick up my grocery order (isn’t grocery pickup the best invention ever?!), prep my snacks for the week and do some cleaning.

Evening

As the evening approaches, I’ll cook dinner, clean up, and pack up the leftovers for my lunch the next day.

After this, it’s time for more good ol’ self care. I love unwinding by taking a bath and reading for the rest of the evening. Sometimes, I’ll switch it up by watching a reality TV show with my husband.

Sunday Routine Love

I’ve learned that I go into the work week with the best headspace when my Sunday routine is productive but I also schedule in time to rest and recharge.

Don’t tell Friday, but Sunday might be my favourite day of the week!
